Thank You John Mayer

John recently joined the coalition of artists and stars that have written or spoken out about the messed up situation the world is in today, about the stupid war, and the stupid leaders of what we call 'Democracy' and I just wanted to thank him. I listen to songs like these and they inspire me, and make me depressed. How is it that so many people can feel this way, and disagree with our leaders, and yet it seems like we make no headway. Almost makes you want to give up and just wait, which I guess is his point.

"Waiting On The World To Change"
John Mayer

Me and all my friends
We're all misunderstood
They say we stand for nothing and
There's no way we ever could

Now we see everything that's going wrong
With the world and those who lead it
We just feel like we don't have the means
To rise above and beat it

So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's hard to beat the system
When we're standing at a distance
So we keep waiting
Waiting on the world to change

Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want

That's why we're waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

It's not that we don't care,
We just know that the fight ain't fair
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

And we're still waiting
Waiting on the world to change
We keep on waiting waiting on the world to change
One day our generation
Is gonna rule the population
So we keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

We keep on waiting
Waiting on the world to change

We can't wait for the world to change, its not going to change without us, are we going to let the dying generations decide our generations fate, we don't have to wait...i like this song but it makes me mad at the same time because we as the generation inheriting all these problems need to make changes not wait for changes...

Yea, but what the fuck can we do. Its been proven, its something freaky, like 85% of youth are against the war, against the president, and are against the USA administration. And yet, who wins the votes ? SURPRISE !

The older generation will always have more power and force than the younger, we just have to wait until they die off and then we can change the world to what we feel is right, and then the generation after us will do the same. I dunno, it seems to me like we don't have much of a choice but to follow this cyclical proccess...

voting isn't the only way we make our voice heard. its sad that people just give in and think "oh well this is how its going to be, I can't make a difference", no offense i think its a younger generation coming up with lazy, cop-out excuses so that we don't have to be active and make real changes.

I happen to agree with megan... Especially Canadians, we are a very passive society and we have life so good. We havn't known suffering and therefore we have never had to rally and march on parliament to stand for something, or heaven forbid go fight a war in the name of freedom. Our Generation is the generation that the previous generation fought for and therefore we need to recognise our freedom and not take it for granted.
